Venue

DISC 2024 will be held in Madrid, Spain on October 28 – November 1, 2024. The conference will be held at the Spanish Engineering Institute, located at Calle del General Arrando, 38, Madrid.

Conference banquet

The banquet will be held on Wednesday, October 30 at Casa de Burgos, located at Calle Principal de Provincias, 3, Madrid.

To get to the restaurant from the conference venue, walk to the Alonso Martinez metro station, take Line 10 in the direction Puerta del Sur, and get off at the Lago station (the 4th stop). The restaurant is a short walk away from there. The whole trip should take less than half an hour. The lake next to the Lago station has nice views over the Madrid skyline and lots of bars for a pre-dinner drink.

Getting to Madrid

You can get from the Madrid airport to the city center by metro, taxi (fixed rate of 33 euros), or an airport bus (runs 24 hours a day). If taking the metro, start by taking Line 8 to the Nuevos Ministerios station, which connects to the rest of the urban transport network. See the Madrid tourism web-site for more information.

Madrid is also well-connected to other major Spanish cities by high-speed rail. There are three companies operating these routes: Renfe, Ouigo and Iryo.

Accommodation

The good news is that Madrid is a major tourist destination, so there are plenty of accommodation options. The bad news is that Madrid is a major tourist destination, so hotel prices have been steadily increasing. We thus advise the attendees to book their hotels early.

If you need a visa support letter to attend the conference, please write to disc24@software.imdea.org from an institutional email well in advance, indicating:

  • Full name, as it appears in your passport
  • Passport number
  • Citizenship
  • Affiliation and position at your institution
  • Title of your accepted paper/talk at DISC or an affiliated workshop (if applicable)
