Toulouse Historical Heritage

centre ville

The historical centre of Toulouse includes a lot of interesting features and more especially : the Saint-Sernin Basilica, the Jacobins' church and its cloister, the Saint-Etienne Cathedral, the Capitole Square, the Notre-Dame de la Daurade Basilica, the Augustins' Museum, the Assézat mansion housing the Museum of the Bemberg Fundation and the Pont Neuf which is the older bridge over the Garonne river.

For more information about these features, you could refer the Web site of Toulouse.

In a more modern turn of mind, a visit to the Cité de l'Espace could be a real introduction to the space technologies.

The country around Toulouse is also very rich in historical features. At less than 100 km from Toulouse, you could then discover : Albi with the Sainte-Cécile Cathedral and the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum, the fortified village of Cordes, the abbey church and the cloister of Moissac, the old village of Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges and its Cathedral and of course the famous medieval City of Carcassonne.

Nature lovers would enjoy the marvellous landscapes of the Pyrénées Ariégeoises mountains not very far away.
